Chumley is lucky too — he’d been missing for four months and would have been put to sleep this week if it weren’t for his Colorado family contacting the animal control center in Kansas. But, the bulldog mix had a microchip implanted under his skin with information that ultimately helped the facility identify him and his family.
It remains unclear how Chumley made it all the way from Colorado to Bonner Springs, Kansas or from where in Colorado he’s originally from. But Bonner Springs is in eastern Kansas and even from the eastern Colorado state border, Chumley would have had to travel almost the entire length of the state — that’s more than 400 miles.
